The Heart Med Gala hosted by Marco Castelli
On 23rd September, Marco Castelli hosted a spectacular gala dinner at the valley of the Temples of Agrigento declared by UNESCO in 1997, “world heritage of humanity”; supporting the La Familia charity, which aims to inspire children and young people in Sicily to achieve their dreams.
The evening began with a welcome reception, during which guests enjoyed prosecco and non-alcoholic prosecco provided by Bella Dream. Located in the Valley of the Temples and set against the enchanting backdrop of the illuminated Temple of Concordia, Villa Athena was a magical setting for the event.
The gala commenced with an explosive fire show, followed by a performance of Opera dei Pupi, in true Sicilian tradition. Marco Castelli introduced the event before guests dined on authentic Sicilian cuisine, serenaded by English singer songwriter and model Sam Way, who performed three touching songs throughout the night.
Michele Casà did a live painting show of clothing from the Marco Castelli collection, which were later auctioned to raise money for La Famila. Other highlights included a speech by artist Chiara Collizzolli, who also donated a painting for the auction; a presentation of dresses by Paulita Errazuriz, worn by actress Melania Dalla Costa and model Giota Miroti, which were also included in the auction.
Notable guests included medical physicist and philanthropist Adam Schulman, who delivered a heartfelt speech about his friendship with Marco Castelli and the importance of the work done by the La Familia charity; Manar Al Sabah, representative to the UN; Marcela Mayorgas of Elle Chile; journalist and editor at Show Media London Jemima Wilson; interior designer and founder of Biancoebianca Timeea Bianca Diosi; and fashion editor of Marie-Claire Chile Nico Freijo.
Brietling Italia also attended to support the event and ambassador Marco Castelli with a showcase of its watches on display.
The event succeeded in bringing together people from around the world, united in a mission to help those less fortunate than themselves, and Marco Castelli personally extended his thanks to all who attended in support.
In the words of Sam Way, ‘We think the world needs heroes , all it needs is you, to find the kind in mankind , this is my response, do you have one too’.
